World Class Workshop Being Taught by Daniella Karagach on Saturday, Sept. 18 @ 6pm College Avenue Gym

We are Happy to Announce that Daniella Karagach will be teaching our World Class Workshop at the Plaza De Oros event, from 6:00PM to 7:30 PM at the College Avenue Gym, 130 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.

Daniella will be teaching the Paso Doble. Daniella is the current USA National 10-Dance Champion, and is the youngest US competitor to ever hold this title. Daniella and her partner, Pasha Pashkov were selected to represent the USA at the 2009 World Games in Taiwan, and are representing the USA at the World Championship in Austria in November 2010, as well as the World Cup in Korea. Daniella has been dancing since the age of three and has garnered many titles in the competive world of ballroom. Don't miss learning from Daniella at this event, as we look forward to her workshop on the Rutgers Campus.

Also, the evening will have two live soloist Flamenco Performances by:
Ryan Rockmore and Claudia Campbel-Matland, A Rutgers Graduate School Alumnus.

Come share in this moment as you enjoy an evening of Spanish Flair.

Club Meeting on Tuesday, September 7th @ Winants Hall

Hello Fellow Dancers,
I hope the summer has treated you well. We ended our Summer Dance Saturday programming with a Luau Dance Party and Salsa Dance Lessons. Christopher Paige did an amazing job in showing us variations, shines, and on 1, on 2 steps. Our attendees helped our community initiative in helping food pantries, and the Ambrosia Salad was a big hit. Thank you to all those who supported our program that day.

We will be hosting a club meeting on Tuesday, September 7th at Winants hall, 7 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ to discuss upcoming events, exhange ideas, and prepare for our upcoming dance social in the College Avenue Gym. We are always looking for ways to get the word out about our club. Also, we will be discussing the formation of a competitive team for our club. Anyone interested, please come to this meeting.

We'll see you tomorrow in NYC. Looks like the Midsummer Swing Dance will be rained out but there is a fundraiser party at Dance Chelsea, as well as free dance lessons from 11am to 6pm. From 1pm to 2pm we will have a beginner lesson, from 2pm to 3pm (intermediate) and from 3PM to 4PM (advanced). Our Open House on 5/15 is Around the Corner

Hey Fellow Dancers,
The Rutgers DanceSport Alumni Club, or as many of you fondly know us as RU Dance Alumni, is hosting a Free Open house on Saturday, May 15th in Metuchen, NJ.

We are happy to have Vladimir Popov teach a beginner and intermediate/advance dance lesson in International Standard. Lesson will start at 4:00 PM, so bring your dance sneakers or dancing shoes.

What is International Standard, you ask?
It is a style of ballroom dance which includes the following dances: waltz, quickstep, foxtrot, viennese waltz, and tango. You may have seen some of these dances on shows such as "Dancing With The Stars", and the best thing about International style is that the steps are used Internationally. Which means, if you decide you have the dancing bug and go to Italy on Holiday, you will be able to dance with a person in an International Style Dance while in Italy.

The lessons are Free and open to Rutgers Alumni, Friends and Family of Rutgers Alumni, as well as Rutgers Faculty/Staff/Students. After the lesson we will have some general dancing until 9PM.

So think about dropping by on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Social Center of the First Presbyterian Church, 270 Woodbridge Avenue in Metuchen. Looking forward to seeing some fellow Scarlet Knighters.
